BUSINESS, MANAGEMENT & ECONOMICS

Business schools in Switzerland

A business degree can be academic, applied or built around professional experience. Compare the programme your child will follow, the qualification they will receive and the environment in which they will study.

START WITH THE STUDENT

Which direction feels right?

01

University foundations

Compare the depth of economics, quantitative methods and management, alongside the school-leaving diploma and subject requirements. Look at the route into later Master’s study.

02

Applied business study

Examine how projects, specialisations and professional experience are built into the degree. Check whether experience is required before entry or gained during the course.

03

Hospitality & service business

Hospitality can offer a practical setting for learning management and customer experience. Compare that specialisation with a broader business curriculum.

A COMPLETE FAMILY BUDGET

Compare what the price includes.

Compare tuition over the same period, then add administration, accommodation and everyday living costs. These two published fee structures illustrate why a semester price and a full-programme total should not be placed side by side without explanation.

GENEVA BUSINESS SCHOOL · GENEVA BACHELOR

CHF 14,950 / semester

Published tuition for a six-semester programme. The school also lists CHF 3,000 in one-time administration fees and a EUR 150 application fee. Add the family’s accommodation and living budget; this is not a residential package.

SBS · ZURICH BSC

CHF 63,150 / programme

Published three-year total: six CHF 10,000 semesters, CHF 3,000 administration and CHF 150 application. Tuition includes books, examinations and extracurricular activities. Accommodation and everyday living need a separate budget.

FROM COMPARISON TO APPLICATION

A shortlist. A clear plan. Personal support.

We turn the comparisons into an application plan for your child. Your family has one point of contact for programme selection, preparation of the files and coordination with the institutions.

01

Match the qualification to the route

Review the diploma, subjects, grades and any experience requirement. A student eligible for one private-school route may face a different set of conditions at a university.

02

Confirm language and study level

Check the language of the full degree, not only the first year. For postgraduate study, distinguish programmes for recent graduates from those expecting professional experience.

03

Prepare and coordinate the file

Agree the shortlist and calendar, then prepare the required records, written materials and interviews. Track each school’s response and the conditions attached to any offer.

BEFORE YOU DECIDE

Questions from families.

Can my child study business entirely in English?

There are English-taught routes, including those shown here at Geneva Business School, SBS and HIM. Check the exact programme: St.Gallen’s business curriculum, for example, includes requirements across English and German. Language evidence or preparation may be needed before entry.

Is a private business school the same as a Swiss university?

The name alone is not enough. Look at the institution’s status, the body issuing the degree and the specific programme. A foreign university award, a private-school qualification and a Swiss university degree may lead to different next steps. We make these distinctions part of the comparison.

Should we choose business or hospitality management?

Start with the student’s interests and preferred way of learning. Compare the amount of economics, finance and analytical work with operational training and placements. A hospitality major within a broader BBA can also be relevant; the curriculum matters more than the category label.
